The Faculty of Mathematics and Statistics is responsible for the teaching of mathematical and statistical methods at all levels of the University of St.Gallen.
It consists of three chairs: Mathematics, Statistics and Financial Econometrics. Next to teaching in these and related areas, we conduct research in quantitative methods in general.
We are engaged in quantitatively oriented research in various fields of economic sciences.
Some of our research projects are funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation or NCCR-FINRISK.
The Faculty consists of two Professors of Mathematics, one Professor of Statistics, one Professor of Financial Econometrics, one Titular Professor of Financial Market Theory, two Professors of Economics (funded by the profile area "Quantitative Economic Methods") as well as seven lecturers.
We teach on all levels and in several programmes of the University of St.Gallen. Not only in the fields of our three chairs but also related fields such as behavioural finance.
